We believe that to grow and
develop it is important to keep learning and keep active in
what we have learned, using our skills and talents.
Every day we can grow by reading
God's word and learning it - Here are
a few texts to get you started.
Whether or not you enjoy reading
for pleasure, a good christian book is amongst the best ways
to grow and develop as a christian. Some suggestions are available
here.
Our discipleship
programme is a way we can learn more about Jesus, our
faith and the Bible as well as many every day issues facing
us today.
It runs in different formats
and does change from time to time for freshness and to
accomodate parish developments. The following series was
run typically a 6 week block of evenings focussed on a
topic or series so all can learn in a friendly and relaxed
environment and grow in understanding and faith as well
as getting to know each other better. Cake and coffee/tea
and a chat is always how these evenings start, typically
at 730pm on a Tuesday.

is the place where this kind of thing has been done in
the last few months of 2007 and into 2008 and The Complete
Story was rerun at this slot prior to and after Christmas

"Ministry
Matters" - Led by Rev Anthony Everett
A close-up look and discussion
on the biblical example and perspective of Ministry in all its
forms in the Church family life. The nature of church life,
and what we should expect from it, and from our leaders. The
Bible is clear that each one of us has God given talents given
so that the church can be a place where people grow. We hope
to see God's purpose for the church and specifically for Christ
Church and St Andrew's. Format is the same as before with opportunity
to ask questions. Tuesdays at 730pm fro 6 weeks (almost)

Sept 21st : Helping God's people to grow in faith
Oct 5th : Helping God's people in need of encouragement
Oct 12th : The importance of corporate worship
Oct 19th : Praying for others without guilt

to gain an 'umbrella view' of what are the main themes and common

A
6 week block investigating the Prophets in the Bible and how
they fit into the Bible as a whole, and how we can approach
the writings about them to get best benefit and understanding

ACTIVITIES
CHRISTIANITY EXPLAINED
[Various times] A six-week group for those new to church or
wanting to consider what they believe. A new group is run one
members home for 6 weeks starting from 8pm. For more details
of joining this or another group please email
the office.
LOOKING FURTHER [Various
times] A six-week group for those who have completed Christianity
Explained and wish to find out more, this group is run when
needed.
